The Group was formed in 1972 with the specific aim of organising Horse Driving Trials so that novices could acquire the skills necessary to be able to compete at competitive levels. Since that time it has grown and organises some ten events each year. The Group currently has over 100 members. A good many of these do not themselves drive but assist with the organisation of events (stewards).
